Gibraltar Point, just south of Skegness on the headland at the corner of The Wash is now a National Nature Reserve of over 1000 acres comprising sandy and muddy sea-shore, sand dune, saltmarsh and freshwater habitats. The highest point is called Mill Hill and provides views over the Reserve. The East Dunes front the sea and are around 100 years old. Here wind-blown sand still collects and is bound together by marram grass.  Sea Buckthorn also has colonized the dunes.
